Hailing from the small village of Alhandra, Portugal, Messias began his musical journey at the age of eight on the piano, but soon found his true voice in the guitar. What started as performances in the background quickly evolved—audiences were captivated by his distinctive voice and soulful guitar work, transforming him into a compelling frontman.
For six years, Messias led vibrant weekly jam sessions, earning the affectionate nickname “Hot Tone” from devoted fans. In 2003, he formed Messias and the Hot Tones, a band whose core members have been performing together for over two decades.
Messias’s debut album, No More Than Me (2013), reached the Top 10 in Blues Matters magazine and took him to international stages in Lisbon, New York, Cannes, Madrid, Kiev, Odessa, and Horsens, among others. In 2017, he proudly represented Portugal at the European Music Challenge alongside musicians from 21 countries.
His second album, Out of Trouble (2018), was supported by SmoothFM of the Media Capital Radio Group as its official radio partner. The following year, Messias opened the European Blues Challenge in the Azores. In 2020, he continued to release notable singles, including “You Wrote” and “Sail With Me.”
