Esteban Fernández is an outsider musician, producer and experimental artist born in Valdivia, Chile in the year 2004.
He began trying this art form in 2020 under the moniker <a href="spotify:artist:3TsVB86pMVgUbjKKXXJJGt" data-name="Apaltado">Apaltado</a>, The project reflected his journey of trying, learning and experimenting with the growing number of tools at his disposal
Three years in, Esteban reached a desire to start fresh, a messy and bloated discography like Apaltado's, made him feel uncomfortable with moving forwards with the name.
So beginning in late 2023, he started from scratch as mi memoria tomando forma, yet it remained true that Esteban never worked towards a set goal or even had any subgoals in mind while creating, this was something that he found unnerving to not have an answer to.
Years later in 2025 after releasing La carrera universal hacia no entendernos and Almeja de plata, abierta he felt this pair of releases made an open book of his personal issues, of his relationship with art and also self-identity. And that he had been writing the same metaphors to describe the same issues for over 5 years.
After this level of personal clarity, Esteban stopped all song-writing work for mi memoria tomando forma. Though to this day, he is still listening to his work, discovering personal answers that have eased his blurry memories of feeling a life that didn't feel his.
