Michael Jay Hughes

Michael Jay Hughes grew up on a farm outside of the small town of Goshen, Alabama, picking up his first guitar at age 13 and soon becoming a skilled country singer and songwriter. Now a devoted God-fearing husband and father, he produces his music in his studio at his home in Montgomery, and showcases his original sound all across the South.


Michael Jay finds inspiration from his faith, family, and real life and that immediately translates in his songs. Songs that deliver Real. Country. Music…with Heart. And while true authentic country is Michael Jay’s passion and first love, he is no stranger to stepping out and experimenting with other musical genres and collaborating with other artists.


Michael Jay can be seen regularly around Montgomery, AL, playing local clubs and venues. He also spends a good bit of time in Texas, playing in and around the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. He recently partnered with 2 Cuts Enterprises, the Dallas based music management team owned and operated by Rhett Rogers and John Archer. He has been releasing his original songs recorded in the Sound Kitchen Studio in Franklin, TN, produced by legendary music producer Larry Rogers. His original "Playing With Fire" won Single of the Month for the UK and Norway based Boots of Europe radio program. "Keith Whitley Songs", an original song about a Keith Whitley greatest hits CD, received attention and recognition by Keith and Lorrie's son Jessie Keith Whitley.
