Michael Joyce is a UK based music producer who likes to dabble in many styles. For the last decade he has been honing his craft on the boutique festival circuit with regular appearances at Deevstock and Orange Cormorant festivals, where he captivates crowds with his live electronic performances. Michael’s music is filled with melancholic, tortured synths, as well as soaring sustained electric guitar tones, all layered over punchy, driving drums.
Michael was born in St Albans England, to music loving parents who would often fill the house with a fantastic array of eclectic sounds. From a young age he enjoyed listening to everything from Joni Mitchel and Fleetwood Mac to Michael Sembello and Salif Keita. At age 7 his parents bought him a casio keyboard, which had some basic sequencing capabilities, and Michael’s love for composition was born. Michael was introduced to electronic music by his older brother, Joseph Joyce, who is himself a very talented DJ and producer. Michael spent his formative teenage years growing up in North Norfolk where he was heavily influenced by the illegal rave scene, which further cemented his love for music. He went on to study mathematics at university but kept coming back to music production, and continued to develop this side of himself.
In the time that followed, Michael improved his skills as a mix engineer and has recently begun to put out his finished tracks as digital releases.
