Since 2016, Michael Seyer has poured out his immense talent in singing, songwriting, and production as he creates a cocktail mix of Japanese city pop, Lo-Fi Jazz, and various alternative soundscapes throughout his entire discography.

Beginning his career during the rise of the DIY indie bedroom scene, Seyer’s debut album, Ugly Boy, learns to transform soliloquies into lifelong memories through his slow-moving instrumentals, idiosyncratic rhythmic style, and the ability to develop lyricism that would become a testament to the power of vulnerability, all of which are further amplified in his later albums, Bad Bonez and A Good Fool.

Released under his new independent DIY record label, Seyerland, Michael Seyer reminisces thoroughly in his latest 12-track album, Boylife, where Seyer’s bedroom transforms into a sonic lair that depicts quiet yet seismic waves of molten six-string riffs, meandering melodies, and diaristic ballads about love, boyhood, and nostalgia.
