Michelle Jia is a singer-songwriter based in Toronto. Her work celebrates the mysteries of landscape and the free spirited energy of travel and self-exploration. Her debut album “To Name The Wind” was written during a week-long journey across the United States, writing from the back of an RV and responding to energetic variances and hidden narratives over the land she crossed.

Touching down in Detroit, MI she met and began working with producer John Hanson to bring the album to life. Together the two would work at studios in Detroit and Toronto to create a hybrid weave of Canadian and American players, all paying homage to the core aesthetic of the Great Lakes Region’s independent music scene.
