Mikey entered the Soca arena in 2004 with a song called Come Together. Taking Barbados by storm, he placed 2nd in Party Monarch to Edwin Yearwood but he won the Road March title. Years of consistency followed with a series of second and third places but Mikey was unable to breakthrough to that first place spot again. In 2011 he won his first Party Monarch with Pavement Anticipation. He retained his Party Monarch crown in 2012 with No behaveya. He created history in 2012 when he won Sweet Soca, people's monarch and Road March along with the party monarch, the first and only artist to date to win 4 crowns in one year. In 2013 he retained the people's monarch title. He teamed up with blood and won Party Monarch and road March with the smash hit Roll it. In 2018 Mikey won Party Monarch once again with My Kinda Party and he won people's monarch with the mega hit Feting Family. In 2019, he then became Barbados' first Soca Monarch winner with the french influenced Action Time Again.

One of the most consistent artist on the scene, Mikey also formed his own charity and continues to give back to the community via gift baskets, scholarships, monetary donations etc. The Team Mikey charity is something he is extremely passionate about and continues to help who they can, when ever possible.
