MIMI is an independent artist and singer-songwriter, born and raised in south-west London, whose music is heavily inspired by indie and bedroom pop, as well as female lyricists such as Lana Del Rey and BANKS. Her lyrics are open, honest and often sound as if taken from a diary entry, speaking to the familiar ups and downs of navigating life in your teens and twenties.
In Spring ’22, she began collaborating with producer and songwriter Jules Konieczny, previously one-half of the indie-pop band APRE, at Urchin Studios, Hackney. Since releasing her debut single ‘Oblivion Baby’ last August, followed by the dreamy and nostalgic ‘80s Playlist’ in October, MIMI has been played on both BBC Radio One and BBC Radio London, and earned a spot as a regular on the Future Hits Radio ‘A List’. BBC Introducing’s Jess Iszatt described the artist’s sound as “raw and new”
