Minotaur Shock

My 1st EP was released in 2000, and the <a href="spotify:album:7tU5dzNvKsa0fQW20z3GDv" data-name="Chiff-Chaffs &amp; Willow Warblers">Chiff-Chaffs &amp; Willow Warblers</a> LP in 2001 (on the Melodic label). It’s always bothered me that I hyphenated Chiffchaff, but I was young. In 2002, the <a href="spotify:track:3yFwWiYHmJSmHdjEMlId44" data-name="Rockpoolin&#39;">Rockpoolin&#39;</a> EP came out, followed by Rinse in 2003.

In 2005 4AD released the <a href="spotify:album:5ro20fDvENV8ZaONz9Wh7F" data-name="Vigo Bay">Vigo Bay</a> EP and <a href="spotify:album:51YMhBQOs92pNzRJsy0gaC" data-name="Maritime">Maritime</a> full-length. Around then I did this <a href="spotify:track:0SwecF3sQwuTEqWnsPYVk0" data-name="Tulips - Minotaur Shock Remix">Tulips - Minotaur Shock Remix</a> and played shows with <a href="spotify:artist:5hAhrnb0Ch4ODwWu4tsbpi" data-name="Yo La Tengo">Yo La Tengo</a>.

<a href="spotify:album:2HE8J9aroBtktrKCb75pEM" data-name="Amateur Dramatics">Amateur Dramatics</a> came out digitally on 4AD in 2008. I was trying to write something like <a href="spotify:artist:2LvhyFvUCDJ7gFuEBOcrM8" data-name="Michael Nyman">Michael Nyman</a> but that I could drum to.

<a href="spotify:album:3rL1EbhPE7g9Zc8M5cSCIA" data-name="Orchard">Orchard</a> came out in 2012. For the first time I recorded live stuff in a studio, having demoed the tracks at home. In the press release I said “I…became fascinated by that particular eccentricity that runs through a lot of folk, library, prog and dance music. MINO came out in 2019, after a while spent trying to learn how synths worked. I still didn’t really find the answers.

Qi is a bunch of one-take performances recorded on an Elektron Digitone. <a href="spotify:album:6kab7u5kVTrroTjTihOkxt" data-name="Salina Pulse Streams">Salina Pulse Streams</a> and Chaff Probes are both stream-of-consciousness releases where each track evolves into the next one.
