Brooklyn-based multimedia artist Shanthony Exum devised Miss Eaves, her boldly defiant, ebulliently vulgar rap persona, following musical and romantic splits. Miss Eaves appeared on 2014 cuts by Tomderson ("Clak Clak") and Mike Doughty ("Oh My God Yeah Fuck It"), then made her proper debut the following year with Black Valley, an EP produced by KEISHH. It was quickly followed with Font Drama, an EP made in collaboration with Clara Bizna$$. Shortly thereafter, Miss Eaves popped up on "Beatnik in the City," the first song on Uncle Meg's 2016 album Bug, and released co-headlining singles with Casey Dienel and Ratchet by Nature. Recorded with KEISHH during a winter spent in Montreal, Quebec, Feminasty -- its title inspired by a derogatory anti-feminist term and one of Janet Jackson's assertive 1986 hits -- arrived in 2017. The concise album was led by the single "Thunder Thighs." ~ Andy Kellman
