Mitochondrial Sun

MITOCHONDRIAL SUN is the electronic/synthetic project of former <a href="spotify:artist:5EHvXKnNz78jkAVgTQLQ5O" data-name="Dark Tranquillity">Dark Tranquillity</a> guitarist Niklas Sundin. Lush and cinematic passages collide with harsh distortion and massive futuristic soundscapes. Some songs have a traditional feel, invoking ghosts and patterns from our distant past, some are urban and desolate and some glance outward towards a future among the stars.

The self-titled full length was released in February 2020 on Argonauta records, followed by the harsher and more industrial &#34;Sju Pulsarer&#34; later the same year. The most recent mini album, &#34;Bodies and Gold&#34;, sees a return to the more cinematic style of the first release.

In the spring of 2022, Mitochondrial Sun made an official remix of the <a href="spotify:artist:2qvK5iLLoDV5mJeAvh5uka" data-name="The Halo Effect">The Halo Effect</a>song &#34;The Needless End&#34;, which currently is available on the 12&#34; vinyl EP of the same name and soon will be published on all streaming services.
