MMTH is a three-piece instrumental rockband from the upper north-west of Germany.
Combining eighties shoegaze and the tremendous impact of post rock this band shows that they don’t need
words to take the listener on a trip.
In 2017 MMTHs Paternoster came out of nowhere. The quartet from the north sea coast of Germany had a
quick start. Visions magazine chose their debut as ‚demo of the month‘, Arctic Drones readers made them one
of the best new post rock acts of that year through an online voting. They started traveling around Germany
and the Netherlands playing shows with <a href="spotify:artist:21DtKSgtPS1mEUQsSl6y6Y" data-name="Leech">Leech</a> , <a href="spotify:artist:4K7elTMrmeEYTE9w1zGP5e" data-name="ef">ef</a> , <a href="spotify:artist:6VsiDFMZJlJ053P1uO4A6h" data-name="Public Service Broadcasting">Public Service Broadcasting</a> , <a href="spotify:artist:5oHzkbFUZZHA2y8t2aAhso" data-name="Hemelbestormer">Hemelbestormer</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3BjpLi3iAvA6PFVErLC8MO" data-name="Coastlands">Coastlands</a>
and <a href="spotify:artist:5y6sgY3BsTu5q1R2GylGBQ" data-name="Spoiwo">Spoiwo</a> followed by a small tour in 2019.
The sound of MMTH is drier than classic post rock. They’re more groovy, more rock and a little less cinematic
and less cliche tremolo guitars. Sure, you will hear such moments but they rely more on contrasts than forcing
to create the big moment. They just call it instrumental rock music.
The contrasts within the new music break even more apart. But their dreamy melodies and naked riffs still meet on an equal footing to create the common thread. ‚Infinite Heights‘ sounds like the end of a new beginning.
