The Mobiles exploded into 1982 with the haunting "Drowning in Berlin" , their debut single which took them to number 9 in the UK singles charts and to number one in other countries across the world. The story was of a relationship gone wrong for singer Anna Maria, leaving her lost and alone in Germany's iconic city.
Their follow-up single "Amour Amour" was a top 40 hit too and this and singles "Partners In Fiction" and "Your Not Alone" can all be found on The Mobiles album.
2025 UPDATE: The original members Russ, Chris and David and new singer Sarah G are launching Mobiles v2 in autumn of 2025 and a new version of "Drowning In Berlin" will be released in early 2026 followed by new LP Mosaic. They will be doing some showcase gigs in East Sussex venues in April 2026.
