Following last year’s celebrated second EP ‘We’ll Always Have Vegas’, MODERN GUILT return in bold fashion with new single ‘You Know Who You Are’, released digitally on Friday 28th March 2025.
Produced by Mikey Buckley and mastered by Tim Turan (Supergrass), ‘You Know Who You Are’ sees Modern Guilt at their exciting best, while providing a twist on their classic angular Garage Rock sound. It’s dynamic and groovy, with nods to influences from the likes of Talking Heads and LCD Soundsystem.
Frontman Jaz describes the new single as “One for the liars. An ode to dishonesty. Who hasn’t listened to someone unwind ridiculous stories and talk tales over, and over again. We watch them do it through the TV, and we listen to them do it in a dive bar over cigarettes and drinks. It’s all people talking about people, talking about people again, and truth has slightly collapsed.”
Championed by tastemakers including Steve Lamacq (BBC 6Music), John Kennedy (Radio X), and Jess Iszatt (BBC Radio 1 / Introducing), the London based outfit are “knocking it out the park. Their sound already has a level of maturity that makes it both distinctive and confident in it’s ambition” (Chalkpit Records).
Modern Guilt will celebrate with a single launch show at Paper Dress Vintage, East London on Friday 4th April and further UK dates.
“Never doubt this band’s ability to craft music that sticks to your ear canals like glue” - Clunk Magazine
