Money Badoo

Money Badoo, born Jade Alves, is a dynamic South African artist known for her innovative blend of hip hop, trap, and R&B. Raised in Ennerdale, Johannesburg, she began her musical journey at the age of 12, singing in church choirs. Her passion evolved into poetry and rapping over YouTube beats, leading to her debut single, “All My Friends,” in 2019. The track gained significant attention, earning a feature on Apple Music’s The Ebro Show.

In 2020, Money Badoo collaborated with Sauwcy on the EP “MK-Ultra,” showcasing a darker, experimental trap sound. Her solo debut project, “PORN$TAR,” further solidified her status, blending trap, soul, R&B, and hyperpop-inflected rap. This release earned her recognition as Apple Music’s Up Next artist in South Africa.

Beyond music, Money Badoo excels as a stylist, visual artist, and photographer. She has styled prominent South African figures and won Canon’s Picture Perfect competition, leading to collaborations with global brands like Mugler, H&M, and Puma. In 2023, she joined the cast of “Love & Hip Hop: South Africa,” expanding her influence across the continent.
