Money Rod

Rodney McClain is an American rapper that goes by the name Money Rod. Born an raised in Miami, Florida he was drawn into the music industry at a young age. He grew up in a poverty strickened area but learned from his mother survival is all about the will to not give up.
Money Rod recalls lights being cut off and even eviction notices but his mom made away. Watching her and being surrounded by family motivated him to impact others. He felt the best was through his lyrics.
He was always passionate about family, making others happy and he learned early how important it was to invest in his dreams. He was happy to tell true stories in his music. Although he found an outlet, he would still be no stranger to tragedy. He lost his
God brother tragically 09-16-2017 and it pushed him Further into the music industry.
In 2007, Money Rod made a decision to fully pursue his rap career. He always drew inspiration from the greats such as: Jay Z, Bone Thugs N Harmony , and Tupac. So it’s not Surprise his first year he spent time with industry Gurus. While writing and beginning his first professional project he made it a point to listen to to other industry leaders. He learned the hip hop business then would begin his journey. It would soon began to show as he began to get calls about major label meetings.
Money Rod is most proud of his unreleased project entitled, “Real Talk” They are a trilogy discusses his life and how he
lives. Be on the look out for him 2024-2025.
