Decades of varied musical influences (70's Prog to Punk, Jazz and Electronica) together with a love of guitar textures and experimentation fed into the evolution of Monochrome Guitars’ signature sound. They began recording in 2019, those sessions resulted in their first DIY album, Angel Heart, soon followed in the same year by Illuminate. Early tracks drew from personal experience and loss to create some cathartic, emotional, dark songs. On their third album Calm, they expanded their sound with more extensive use of fuzz (The EHX Big Muff) and delay/reverse (OBNE Minim). The next release, These Days Are Metronomic, includes songs drawn from memories of childhood years in Liverpool U.K. which sit alongside others written during the COVID pandemic. Their most recent collection, 335 and Alchemy, was sculpted on a Gibson es335 and the Alchemy synthesizer and contains their catchiest and most varied collection of songs, while still maintaining the unmistakable Monochrome Guitars sound.
