Monte Vista Drive is an alternative rock band formed in Barcelona in 2012. Since then, the project has gone through different stages. First under the name of 1886, they recorded an EP and an LP, and performed in Spain and Europe. In 2018, after a break, they redefined the project with the first compositions of their new album Pale Blue / Coal Black, where they investigate their own character defined by dark landscapes and melodic voices.
Pale Blue / Coal Black, MVD's 2023 debut album, represents a transition, an evolution from daylight to darkness. One of the main objectives in its composition process has been to ensure that each song has a specific atmosphere, uniting music and lyrics to generate a cinematic ambience in which to place each story. Distorted guitars, forceful drums and a deep bass transport us to their particular sound space, characterized by the electricity and energy they show when playing live.
