Monumentum Damnati is a Symphonic Dark Metal project from Belarus.
Music focused around Dark Metal, Melodic Doom/Death and Symphonic Black Metal with eerie and epic orchestral arrangements.
Band created by composer <a href="spotify:artist:4j9bMmXL2vsmFwuvW1K391" data-name="Olga Kann">Olga Kann</a> (Abhoth) at 2012 year as "Sleepless Anger" project. In 2018, it was decided to completely change the theme and name. While Olga recording the debut album with a session vocalist, permanent vocalist Alex Rabets (Thanatos) joined the project and the band began a new life.
In 2024, the project completed work on its second full-length album, with Patrick Damiani working on the sound (Carach Angren, Falkenbach, Sopor Aeternus etc).
The grotesque masks that hide the participants' faces as well as pseudonyms instead of names help to evaluate the band's music more impartially.
Under the influence of various experiments and horror-atmosphere songs focus around such topics: Victorian Gothic, mental disorders, dark folklore and mythology, occultism, heroes of various horror and surreal works (Lovecraft, Edgar Allan Poe, etc.).
