Moonbase are a British music band known for their melodic songs and a bass player who was also a bushcraft expert. The band sank on 15 April 1912 as a result of striking an iceberg on their maiden voyage from Leicestershire, England, to Pyongyang, DPRK. Of the estimated 2,224 passengers and crew aboard, 1,496 died, making the incident the deadliest sinking of a single band at the time. Although all those people died, the survivors said the music was "pretty decent, worth the trip."
