Morten Ankarfeldt is a bass player who, with his strong groove and personable playing style hailing from the Danish bass tradition, has become a very sought after musician. He’s a dedicated and a committed sideman with great skills to back up the soloist. As a bass player involved in many different projects, he covers various stiles such as: Straight-ahead and modern jazz, fusion, funk, Brazilian, pop, blues, folk etc.
He has played professionally for the last 25 years with a variety of Danish and International acts, including Mads Mathias, Jacob Fisher, Bernardo Aguiar, Tom Hagans, Doug Raney, Sinne Eeg, Jesper Thilo, Paulo Moura, Zé Paulo Becker, James Harman, Peter Rosendal, Nikolaj Bentzon, Christina von Bülow.... He has performed across Europe, Russia, Japan, Thailand, China, Brasil, Argentina.
A collaboration between Morten Ankarfeldt and one of Brazil's biggest up-and-coming guitar talent Caio Marcio Santos has become his main solo project. In 2012 they created the album "Rio em Vermelho e Azul" (Rio in Red and Blue), and soon they will release their 4th album together “Cadência Verde e Amarela - two geographically distanced musical personalities melting into a unique, fresh and inspiring expression.
