Moss is the Filipino folk rock group behind the album Alambre under Ivory Records. Before disbanding, they bagged Best Folk Pop Recording for Himig ng Kalikasan in the 11th Awit Awards in 1998.
After the 2022 presidential elections, Bolet (Moss songwriter and ex-political junkie) found time to revisit some of his old songs and also write some new ones. In June 2023 his brother Bong Banal (composer/front man of indie band Dystocia Curve) brought him to this tiny studio in Project 6 to record these songs with Bok Fajardo on bass and drums.
Their Tuesday afternoon sessions got a surprise boost when Moss main man Boiet Feliciano came home from Singapore in December 2023 for a brief visit. Boi recorded guitar tracks for two folk songs: Blue and, his homage to What a Wonderful World, www.glimpse.
After returning to Singapore to resume his life as a music teacher and professional musician, Boiet continued to send guitar tracks via Telegram. First-time producer Bong advised Boi to just let it all out, and he did, especially in Down The River.
To borrow David Wilcox’s gentle reminder: ”These are not big-time songs" but just like Gullible and Untrue, each one has little stories in them which may strike an unexpected familiar chord with your own.
