Brooklyn's Mothxr make synth-heavy, '80s new wave and R&B-influenced pop. A four-piece, the group features actor/singer Penn Badgely, Reputante and <a href="spotify:artist:6ABaV7mB6WIZKgfEEtWCf8">Lolawolf</a> bassist/producer Jimmy Giannopoulos, guitarist Simon Oscroft, and keyboardist Darren Will. Although longtime friends with a shared love of hip-hop, Mothxr didn't come together until 2014 when the members rented a house in Los Angeles to work on material. Giving themselves a brief eight-day window, they recorded five songs in five days, including "Easy," which reached the Top Ten on the music discovery blog Hype Machine and hit number one on Billboard's Twitter-based Emerging Artists chart. In 2016, Mothxr released their debut album, Centerfold, on <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Kitsun%C3%A9%22">Kitsuné</a>. ~ Matt Collar, Rovi
