Motives is the moniker of rising DC-based DJ and producer Ben Kane. Over past handful of years, his releases have enjoyed support from some of the most respected names in the progressive house space, including Above & Beyond, Qrion, Nora En Pure, Gabriel & Dresden, EDX, and Sultan + Shepard. His remix of Le Youth’s “Miraje” (Anjunabeats) led to guest mix duties on Anjunabeats Worldwide, while his track “Gone” earned a place on Colorize: Classics and multiple “Best Of” compilations.
Behind the decks he has supported an eclectic roster of artists, including Eric Prydz, Adriatique, Cristoph, Bedouin, Cristoph, Yotto, Elderbrook, and Hot Since 82, while appearing across the East Coast festival circuit,including the main stage at We Belong Here in Miami, and sets at Elements Festival, Project Glow, and Fluffy Cloud.
As a resident artist in the DC-based Nü Androids collective, Motives has become a key part of the city’s vibrant and fast- growing house and techno community.
