Formed in October 2018, Movie Club is an instrumental rock duo out of Venice Beach, California. Movie Club is Jessamyn Violet on drums and Vince Cuneo on guitar.

Their first show was for a <a href="spotify:artist:7jy3rLJdDQY21OgRLCZ9sD" data-name="Foo Fighters">Foo Fighters</a> party that local legend <a href="spotify:artist:6sKdTMcmqO5te16RNTmp0Z" data-name="Robby Krieger">Robby Krieger</a> (<a href="spotify:artist:22WZ7M8sxp5THdruNY3gXt" data-name="The Doors">The Doors</a>) was headlining. The band experimented with mixing their favorite genres of music and channeling other instrumental and psychedelic groups (<a href="spotify:artist:2mVVjNmdjXZZDvhgQWiakk" data-name="Khruangbin">Khruangbin</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6XYvaoDGE0VmRt83Jss9Sn" data-name="King Gizzard &amp; The Lizard Wizard">King Gizzard &amp; The Lizard Wizard</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3qYfqdVwX0fil71onLpLkh" data-name="Thee Oh Sees">Thee Oh Sees</a>)

They went on to drop two EPs, “Kraken” &amp; “Hammerhead,” collaborating with producer Matt Wignall (<a href="spotify:artist:6VDdCwrBM4qQaGxoAyxyJC" data-name="Cold War Kids">Cold War Kids</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:7eoJsJZip1IYk8p5o9fvsO" data-name="Wargirl">Wargirl</a> ) and bassist Erick ”Jesus” Coomes (Dr. Dre, <a href="spotify:artist:1fZXjUQEkVbB0TvZX4qFR8" data-name="Lettuce">Lettuce</a>).

After demoing new material in the desert, the group decided to make a grittier &amp; more psychedelic 3rd EP “Man O’ War.” featuring bassist Tim Lefebvre ( <a href="spotify:artist:0oSGxfWSnnOXhD2fKuz2Gy" data-name="David Bowie">David Bowie</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5krkohEVJYw0qoB5VWwxaC" data-name="The Black Crowes">The Black Crowes</a>) and saxophonist David Ralicke (<a href="spotify:artist:3wFHDAXLsjvclEtifEV7F5" data-name="Dengue Fever">Dengue Fever</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:7bcbShaqKdcyjnmv4Ix8j6" data-name="St. Vincent">St. Vincent</a>). They released their debut LP &#34;Black Flamingo&#34; and their EP &#34;Fangtooth&#34; which was covered in Rolling Stone, Paste, and Glide.

Movie Club has been proving themselves unique visionaries and standout collaborators, producing award-winning visuals, several Los Angeles &amp; New York City residencies, and most recently headlining a U.S. tour. From hard-hitting psych rock bangers to more ambient, haunting tunes, Then they dropped their second LP Great White in 2023.

In 2025, they will be heading out on their Psychedelic Circus tour to promote their upcoming EP Black Mamba.
