Since childhood, Ed van der Molen has been crazy about music, but when he starts writing music in 2002 he notices that it can be more than a hobby. After several small music releases in various genres, he starts working as a Freelance music composer for film and animation. In 2015, he wins the award for best music for the short animated film 'Hartstocht'.
A few years before that, Ed has found a new direction. The Synthwave genre seems perfectly suited to him. With his obsession for synthesizers and everything that sounds 80's, he starts producing music under the name Mowelan. It soon became apparent that a voice was missing, Rubenson’s unique voice proved to be a perfect fit for his music. After years of being active on platforms such as Sound Cloud, it is now time to really go public
