Mr Koo reinterpret surf rock through their own lens, blending blue notes and dreamy chords with a psychedelic kick. What started as a one-man recording project by songwriter Ollie Rodgers who draws the name ‘Koo’ from his Asian family surname, has now evolved into a powerhouse 5-piece live band. The group draw influence from funk, surf rock and blues, creating a nostalgic sound of summer.
Now a mainstay in the Hong Kong indie scene, their psychedelic instrumental improvisations combined with raw, soulful vocals continue to captivate audiences.
