Murray Doon is Brock, Kieran and Rhys - three lifelong mates who all share a love and passion for a good riff and a good time.
After jamming all the way through high school together in the Sydney suburb of Cronulla, the trio began writing and refining material of their own in the early months of 2019. Upon adopting the name of an apartment block in the backstreets of their hometown, Murray Doon was born.
Murray Doon’s sound can best be described as a garage rock core with flavours of indie, punk, stoner and psychedelic rock, all while never letting anything get in the way of a catchy riff and melody.
The trio entered Sydney’s Def Wolf Studios with acclaimed Australian producer George Georgiadis in the winter of 2021, and after sifting through their catalogue of demos, appeared with their debut single Pedro The Cactus Man in January 2022. With the success of their debut single, its follow-up, These Hands, was released in March 2022.
After a run of shows at some of Sydney’s premier live music venues, Murray Doon re-entered the studio again with Georgiadis in the summer of 2023 to prepare a new batch of releases, the first of these being Ever Better, appearing in November 2023. This was quickly followed by the release of Way Out East in December 2023.
And then finally, on 24th January 2025, Murray Doon released their debut album. No. 19 represents over four years of work and passion, and the trio are immensely proud to finally be able to share it with the world.
