With “all the richness of its offerings (The New York Times), and its unique focus on past and present American musical creativity, Music from Copland House devises ear-opening, mind-expanding adventures within broad historical and cultural contexts. The only American repertory ensemble ranging widely across 150 years of the U. S. musical landscape, MCH is based at Aaron Copland’s National Historic Landmark home near New York City. The internationally-acclaimed ensemble has been featured on CBS Sunday Morning, Euro-Radio, NPR, Sirius, and other leading media; engaged by Carnegie Hall, the Library of Congress, Miller Theatre, Smithsonian Institution, Monday Evening Concerts in Los Angeles, Merkin Hall, Kennedy Center, University of Chicago, and the Bard, Cape Cod, Caramoor, Ecstatic, and SONiC Music Festivals and more; and heard on the Arabesque, Koch International, and Copland House Blend labels. Its mainstage concert series in Westchester County, NY is now in its 12th season, and it has launched an ambitious, ongoing new series at The Graduate Center of the City University of New York (telecast by CUNY-TV). The ensemble’s five-instrument core (flute, clarinet, violin, cello, piano) expands and contracts according to its programming, from two to thirteen performers, and features its stellar Founding, Principal and Guest Artists, of whom The Chicago Tribune raved, “Copland would have been proud of them all.”
