Brooklyn's epic psychedelic rockers My Best Fiend formed in 2004, when vocalists/multi-instrumentalists Fred Coldwell, Kris Lindblade, and Gary Tedder and drummer Joe Noll began playing and recording demos together. Forging an expansive sound that evoked Spiritualized and Explosions in the Sky as well as more down-to-earth artists like Tom Petty, the group issued the Acid Happy/Mary's Fits single on Gigantic Music in 2007. After spending several years playing live, woodshedding, and adding Damian Genuardi to the fold, My Best Fiend self-released the Jesus Christ EP early in 2011 via their Bandcamp page. The group recorded its debut album with producer Matt Boynton and worked with collaborators including Shannon Funchess and Anni Rossi. Late in 2011, Warp Records announced they had signed My Best Fiend, and In Ghostlike Fading arrived early in 2012. ~ Heather Phares, Rovi
