A proto-punk garage band that formed at Southwest High School in Green Bay, WI in the late 1990s, the Mystery Girls developed a ramshackle, passionate and almost blues-based sound that seems to belong to the mid-'60s as much as it does the early 21st century, although it wouldn't be quite accurate to think of them as a throwback band. A debut album, Mystery Girls, was released on both LP and CD by Trick Knee Records in 2002, followed by Something in the Water in 2004 from LA-based label In the Red. By the time of the band's third release, 2008's Incontinopia, also on In the Red, the band's lineup consisted of guitarists Matt Conger and <a href="spotify:artist:19SI16ub6sfY9cToygz1Ty">Jordan Davis</a>, vocalist Casey Grajek, drummer Jamis Kipp, and bassist Michael Zink. ~ Steve Leggett, Rovi
