Though she possesses the resounding voice of an international pop star, Oaxaca-born singer Nadia remains remarkably true to her musical roots. Her albums mostly feature variations on traditional mariachi and norteña music performed in a contemporary style. Her self-titled 2003 debut found considerable success in her native Mexico, while 2004’s Contigo Si found Nadia experimenting with elements of American R&B, as well as international Latin pop styles such as salsa. A Puro Dolor, released in 2008, was a more traditional work that featured Nadia performing classic Tejano tunes and new compositions supported by a full mariachi ensemble. ~ James Steiner, Rovi
