Raised in Maryland by Trinidadian parents, Nafets grew up torn between his heritage and the American pop culture he found himself surrounded by. The result is an artist whose first musical love was Iron Maiden and whose record collection is made up of equal parts metal, soca, indie rock and hip-hop.
His own music is just as eclectic, as he seamlessly switches from buttery hooks sung over jazzy chords to rapped vocals over gritty, chugging punk rock guitar.
