Nate Merchant

Raised in the rainy woods of Oregon, piano lessons started at age 8 for Nate, his first electronic drum kit arrived on his 11th birthday and he began guitar lessons at age 12 with neighbor and Grammy award-winning songwriter <a href="spotify:artist:66AE89GQTx88zLYhXn1wFK" data-name="Sam Martin">Sam Martin</a>. In time a mentorship with Sam evolved where Nate honed his writing and production skills.


By the time Nate finished studying Music Technology at the University of Oregon, he had blossomed into a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist and it was time for him to pack his synths and guitars into his Jeep and head south to Los Angeles to launch his career.


Nate’s first band <a href="spotify:artist:0JpuGd5LWwUn9fHGj8zCTI" data-name="Papa Ya">Papa Ya</a> quickly cracked the Top 10 on the Spotify Viral Charts, and garnered over 40 million plays across all platforms, leading to two nationwide club tours with the likes of chart-topping pop acts <a href="spotify:artist:1bqxdqvUtPWZri43cKHac8" data-name="MAX">MAX</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:6jsjhAEteAlY0vCiLvMLBA" data-name="ROZES">ROZES</a>. Nate is presently in the studio with <a href="spotify:artist:0lZoBs4Pzo7R89JM9lxwoT" data-name="Duran Duran">Duran Duran</a>’s legendary bassist, John Taylor working together on Nate’s debut solo album.


You may have also heard Nate’s music on television networks like Fox, Bravo, and TLC as well as various commercials by major brands including GNC, GoGoSqueeze, and Yellowtail Wine with the latter being aired on Super Bowl 51 and 52.
