Neil Foster is a composer, performer, multi-instrumentalist and music therapist based in Ireland. As a session musician Neil has performed and recorded with some of the world's leading orchestras and ensembles, and through his work with ensembles like the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the Bach Choir has contributed to films such as 'Lord of the Rings (the Two Towers)' and 'Kingdom of Heaven' as well as recording for labels which include BMG and Deutsche Grammophon.
Moving away from the session world to focus on his own process, Neil released his first collection of songs in 2016. He has more recently begun to develop a style which explores the borders between ambient, lyrical neo-classical and experimental music. He has released two studio albums: 'Hiraeth' (2018) and 'Stormlight' (2021).
When not working on his own music, Neil works as a music therapist, using music as a way of cultivating safe spaces where isolated and marginalised people can come together, improvise, create, and support each other.
