Nenad Bach, Croatian-American singer-songwriter, composer and producer, has a distinguished musical career spanning 50 years. He has performed and recorded with Luciano Pavarotti, Bono & The Edge (U2) and Brian Eno, with whom he featured at Pavarotti and Friends in Modena, Italy, in 1995. His seven original albums, seven traditional Croatian albums, a compilation with Bruce Springsteen, Leonard Cohen, and Allen Ginsberg, plus film scores, including Croatia’s 1999 Academy Awards entry, have sold over a million copies.
His first band, Vrijeme i Zemlja, topped European charts. After moving to New York in 1984, he developed his blend of rock and soul, reaching Number 1 again with his second solo album. Nenad’s 1992 hit Can We Go Higher? is an anthem to peace and a plea to end war in his homeland.
Nenad wrote for the United Nations magazine on his project, World Peace in One Hour, and in 2006, Globus named him one of the 100 most influential Croatians. His story was the subject of award-winning documentary Everything is Forever, which revealed his Parkinson diagnosis in 2010. His guitar playing was impacted by Parkinson until he started playing ping pong and his condition improved. In 2017, Nenad founded PingPongParkinson®, now in 30 countries, helping people with Parkinson discover the benefits of table tennis. With unshakeable belief, humour and humility, Nenad shares his message of joy, hope and peace through art, culture and sport.
