Rapper, singer, and producer Nevelle Viracocha emerged from the South during the latter half of the 2010s with a melodic but hard-hitting approach showcased on the 2016 mixtape Eff/Pee/Ohh and 2018 album Astral Hour. Born in North Carolina, raised in Alabama, and based in Atlanta, Georgia, Viracocha attracted attention from major online publications in 2015 with the single "Double Up." The track was subsequently featured on the nine-track mixtape Eff/Pee/Ohh, released the following year with distribution through Empire. Two of its other highlights, "Dirrty Game" and "Mind Made," reached a significantly larger audience when they were licensed for use in episodes of the FX series Atlanta originally broadcast in April 2018. Viracocha rode the momentum and released Astral Hour later that year. Considered his debut album, Astral Hour featured the AraabMuzik-produced single "Wanted." ~ Andy Kellman
