Leidl spent many years as a DJ and comedian but his journey into music came In 2021. Leidl, who could barely play guitar and never sang before, recorded a one draft demo for a fun song called “Friend Zone.”
He released it on February 12, 2021 and it went to #20 on the ITunes Country Music Charts and #62 on the All Genres Charts.
He released a second demo, “Something About Her” a few months later and it peaked at #32 on the ITunes Country chart and #152 on the ITunes All-Genre charts. In 2025, Nick released a re-imagined version of the song produced by an all star team consisting of former Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers drummer and #1 hit songwriter & producer, Stan Lynch alongside Rob Jacobs (longtime producer/mixer of The Eagles & current member of the Black Crowes, “Muddy” Mark Dutton.
