Abandoned and sold into slavery by her mother, Nikita grew up amidst crime and prostitution in Chinatown, Chicago. Forced to serve local syndicates all her life, Nikita knew nothing but exploitation and iniquity. Daily life has become a struggle for survival in 2157. As labourers of the major plants and factories were replaced by machines, the already brittle society collapsed. Industrialists lined their pockets, while the simple man descended ever further into poverty and slavery. The gap between slums and protected luxurious habitats grew far beyond precedent, and organised crime soon owned substantial parts of the city. One day a triad whoremonger violated Nikita to the brink of death and discarded her like garbage in a back alley, where she would have died in solitude and darkness. Upon her last breath, she was rescued by a decommissioned android. "ADR-14N" turned her into a half-human, half-machine, saving the woman’s life in the process. After weeks in a coma, Nikita finally awoke to find herself not only saved but augmented. It took her months to harness her new abilities and to accept polymer and steel instead of bones and skin. But with every shaking step and every night spent in pain due to implant rejection, the seed of revenge grew stronger within her.
Cloaked in shadow, Nikita prowls the streets as a silent spectre of vengeance, indiscriminately acting revenge on those who cross her path. Street thug or Druglord - everyone is her prey.
