Carrying the same fierce spirit found in bands like ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION and L'Arc-en-Ciel, Ninety Horsepower (90HP) stands as an Indonesian rock act that draws inspiration from Asian alternative sounds while staying true to their own identity. Instead of sounding overtly Japanese, they craft music that feels grounded in local stories and emotions, delivering honesty and intensity that reflect who they are.
Formed in September 2013, Ninety Horsepower consists of Ghina Salsabila (vocal and guitar), Wahyu Ramadhan (guitar), Irvanuddin Rahman (drums), and KUNIO (bass). The four met during their college years at the Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia, where they started shaping the foundation of their sound.
The band released their debut EP “90 Horse Power” in April 2016, followed by their first full-length album “Pagi Pasti Kembali” in November 2018. In May 2024, they released the reflective EP “Re:sign-gret-try”, which became an important milestone in their creative journey.
Entering 2025, Ninety Horsepower continues to evolve through their singles “Betmen” and “Gusar.” Both songs offer a glimpse of their upcoming second studio album that promises to push their sound forward while keeping their essence intact.
