A travelling artist wandering this world, collecting ancient sounds from distant lands and blending them in a musical melting pot.
Nomadic is the artistic expression of Dutch producer and DJ wizard, Joshua van der Waay. Whilst currently based in New Zealand, he’s often on the road and gains his creative inspiration from the surrounding landscapes and cultures.
Best known for fusing world-music with bass-heavy beats, his sound continues to evolve, refusing to be confined by any one genre. His songs invite listeners on a surreal journey, blending traditional instruments with contemporary sound design - creating music that feels both organic, mystical and otherworldly.
His debut album ‘Wandering Mind’, released through the US-based label Jumpsuit Records, helped him build an international following and elevated both his DJ and live sets to a new level. He followed this with several prominent releases, including the ambient album ‘Ennui’ and collaborations with other renowned artists such as Ayla Nereo, Skysia, Scott Nice, Volo and Yemanjo.
After a few years away from the stage, Nomadic returns — ready to light up the dancefloors once again with his eclectic sets.
