Nora Sänger

In 2015, singer & songwriter Nora Sänger (Hamburg, GER) released her Folk/Country debut album “Almost Golden”. While it was received with praise by a few critics as well as music fans, lots of insiders from Germany’s music industry deemed the genre “irrelevant” for the national music market, since Country was a genre that was at best a small niche here. Thus, on her following releases, Nora dialed down the Country in her music, trying to make the sound more fit for German industry standards. Her singles “Alone In The Woods”, “Leap In The Dark” & “Suppose I” (2020) feature an acoustic singer-songwriter sound, while “We’ll Make It” and “Be Yourself” are adult contemporary oriented.
“It was fun to try myself out in other styles, but it only led to me realizing that I really dig Americana music. I feel I can express myself best in that style, musically as well as in terms of story telling”, says Nora, who is also a mother of two and a book author.
The acceptance of and even excitement for Country music in Germany has changed a lot in recent years thanks to artists like Beyoncé and Shaboozey, whose songs rotate on German mainstream radio. “And even if that wasn’t the case: I would still return to Country”, says Nora.
And so, her coming EP “Trail” (8-15-25) offers the Americana package Nora loves: Country, Rock, Singer-Songwriter and Blues are blended; topped off by her often soulful vocals. “Trail” was produced by Eike Ernst.
