Nosipho Silinda is a performing artist famously known as Nosipho aka Nocy Jay; a
native of Ladysmith, Kwa-Zulu Natal, was born on August 25, 2000.
This budding artist sang before she could talk according to her family and is
passionate about the arts. She has so much more to contribute; she's a bright,
energetic, disciplined, and brilliant young woman.
Music
Her big break came during Season 14 of South African Idols, where she finished sixth
as a contestant. Nosipho signed with the internationally renowned Gallo record label
in 2019 and the contract ended after 18 months, she releases two singles with them
titled “Thembalami and Don’t kill My Vibe” both songs picked at a no.1 spot on
different Radio charts.
In 2019 She was requested to compose a song for Idols SA S15 Top3 and she wrote
“Kungumusa” which was performed by one of the top3 contestant.
Kungumusa was number one for over 3 weeks on iTunes.
She is now an independent artist and songwriter; and has released more music as an
independent artis under The House of Thom management. Some of projects are
“Wena Wedwa, Better than This, Angik’tholi and Yimi Nawe which she collaborated
on with Sino Msolo in 2023. Which has been well received by the public.
In 2023 she promises to bring more solo and collaboration projects; and harness her
acting skills.
