On September 5, 2025, Not Scientists released VOICES on Kicking Music. Their fourth album combines the urgency of their early years with bold, adventurous songwriting, delivering twelve tracks that both surprise and unite.
Formed in the early 2010s by Ed and Jim of UNCOMMONMENFROMMARS— a landmark band of the 2000s DIY punk-rock scene— the band quickly stood out with a sound mixing punk energy, sharp guitars, and irresistible melodies. After DESTROY TO REBUILD (2015) and GOLDEN STAPLES (2018), they expanded their palette with STARING AT THE SUN (2023), produced by Santi Garcia, which introduced modern textures while keeping their punk spirit intact.
Following that album, Jim’s departure led to the arrival of Federico (ex-THE POOKIES), whose presence brought renewed drive, unifying choruses, and fresh experimentation. On VOICES, the band balances distortion and clarity, retro nods and crystalline guitars, channeling influences from today’s indie rock while staying true to their melodic roots.
Produced once again by Santi Garcia, with visuals by Ulrich Totier, VOICES is a clear, dense, and vital record — proof that Not Scientists keep moving forward with the same energy: to play, to share, and to surprise.
