NRG Rising - now 14 years in the making - was fronted by singer Benita and her daughters Anahera-Pono Whakatope and Honey Tahuri-Whakatope. After years of sharing our music as a trio, NRG Rising is now evolving into a solo act, with Honey stepping up as the new face of NRG RISING !

Honey has embraced the lead role and is determined to carry forward the band’s dreams and legacy through her solo music.

She has faced many trials and tribulations in her journey of life so far which have strengthened her purpose as she shares messages of healing and empowerment through her songs.

NRG RISING has always been about uplifting and empowering people, and Honey is determined to continue that mission. The band’s history is rich with memorable moments, including four tours across Native Nations in the USA, the release of two albums, and thousands of gigs. After moving home to Wairoa four years ago and taking time to settle, Honey recently released her single, 'Are You the One,' as NRG RISING, a light hearted and relaxing tune marking the beginning of this exciting new chapter.
