Nyles Lannon is a musician, songwriter and producer from San Rafael CA, just a few clicks north of San Francisco. As a multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter and producer, he blends a nostalgic folk sound with disparate styles, often injecting Elliot Smith-like ballads with a fare amount of New Wave and 60s nostalgia, with a keen eye on song craft and melodic hooks. He has released four critically acclaimed solo albums as well as several albums with the shoegaze band <a href="spotify:artist:3Q5JOuj2Zs59ujPp1njIWS" data-name="Film School">Film School</a>. He has played in the indie rock band <a href="spotify:artist:2JSc53B5cQ31m0xTB7JFpG" data-name="Rogue Wave">Rogue Wave</a>, the moody ethereal <a href="spotify:artist:3rNX4fCtNvNyDcLhfpA1NN" data-name="Halou">Halou</a> and the avant noise band The Azusa Plane, going back to his time in Philadelphia. He has many projects, including the electronic pop <a href="spotify:artist:33aZD8z621MOqXxV9knzg4" data-name="Sacred Caves">Sacred Caves</a> and the "noire country" band <a href="spotify:artist:1tIyZK2UuZ9gdpCpTkmwvO" data-name="Lupa Rosa">Lupa Rosa</a>. The guy gets around.
2022 should see an outpouring of releases from Lannon, as the work he has done during the dog days of the pandemic get out there. First, to celebrate 15 years since the release of his sophomore solo album "Pressure," he is re-releasing the album on Spotify with new mixes, a new song order, bonus tracks and a remastering. In the Fall he will be releasing his first album with his son Skye, under the name Nyte Skye, something he is very excited about. Lannon will also be continually releasing songs with Lupa Rosa, and Film School is expected to have a follow up to last years LP "We Weren't Here" in the near future.
