Oba Simba

Oba Simba, born David Wilson in December 1971 in St. Thomas, Jamaica, is a resilient reggae artist .
From an early age, music was his passion, nurtured during his time at Trench Town High School. He gained international recognition in the mid-2000s, collaborating with European labels like Irie Ites and Special Delivery Music, releasing successful singles such as "Whistling Bird."
In 2007, Oba Simba faced a life-altering tragedy when a severe accident to his left foot left him permanently debilitated. This forced a significant hiatus from music. However, displaying remarkable inner strength, he viewed the experience as transformative, shaping his resilient outlook.He made a powerful return to the music scene in 2011 with his debut album, "Voice of The People," cementing his reputation as a conscious artist. This was followed by the collaborative album "This Is The Moment" in 2014 and his impactful 2020 solo album, "The Arrival," which featured collaborations with his children.
Beyond recording, Oba Simba has graced stages at events like the MIDEM Music Conference and earned recognition as a finalist in Jamaica's Festival contest. He has also ventured into production, establishing Obadan Produktionz and co-producing the "Lacadema Riddim."
