October Diaries is an indie pop duo formed by Max Eloy, an acclaimed songwriter, musician and producer, and Kathi Schandle, a young aspiring singer/songwriter.
Studying at the Pop Academy in Mannheim, where a lot of music careers (e.g. Alice Merton) have been forged over the last years, helped Kathi shape a vision of herself as an artist and connect with like-minded people. But it wasn’t before she went to Berlin and met Max for a singer-for-hire job when things took an unexpected turn. Kathi’s unique and distinctive voice struck him right away. After jamming around for a while, she started singing some impromptu melody lines that reminded Max of a forgotten song from the 90s.
It was one of those moments no-one could anticipate or plan.
Two hours later “Sweetness” was done, which turns out to be October Diaries’ first official release.
