Years ago, Ola Kvaløy was singer and one of the songwriters in the critically acclaimed indie pop band Lano Places. Unfortunately, he lost himself to academia, and became professor at the University of Stavanger. However, in 2018, he was asked to perform at the economics festival Kåkånomics. He put together a new band, The Rent Seekers, consisting of seasoned musicians and local heroes. Following this, Kvaløy collaborated with Norwegian pop star Morten Abel and multi-instrumentalist Thomas Gallatin to produce his debut solo album, "Any Other Life" (2022). Now, new music is set to be released in fall 2024/ spring 2025.
