Cutting his teeth on garage bands, piano strings and chamber orchestras, Oliver Richard now fuses hellish guitar with angelic vocals, fat synths and tripped out percussion to create a one man wall of sound. Having released music since 2013 both independently and with underground labels (Grimtale Records, USA), Oliver has steadily built a loyal following, with work that has drawn comparison to The Velvet Underground, Radiohead, David Byrne and Jeff Buckley among others.
Career highlights include Oliver's song “Approach Me Like A Lion” chosen by David-Bowie-producer Tony Visconti as the winner of the 2018 Dubreq songwriting competition. Further, in 2021, Nick Cave stopped a show in Scotland after recognising Oliver in the crowd, lavishly praising him for his cover of the Grinderman song "Star Charmer" - Cave had watched it on YouTube with his wife.
Hard as a Needle [single], was released in January 2025 to warm reception. followed by Comatose [single] in April.
